Entry requirements for guests traveling to Uganda

  • No Covid-19 test on arrival in Uganda.
  • Negative PCR test required within 72 hours prior to boarding for all arriving travelers suspended immediately for fully vaccinated persons .
  • Requiring a negative PCR test within 72 hours for all departing travelers will be suspended with immediate effect for those who are fully vaccinated, unless required by the destination country or airline carrier.
  • All inbound and outbound travelers must provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19, except for travelers under the age of 5.
  • Partially or unvaccinated travelers must present a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of travel on arrival or departure. Travelers under the age of 5 are not required to present a negative PCR test upon arrival or departure, regardless of whether they are vaccinated or not.

All arriving guests are required to apply for a visa online and will receive an approval letter to present to the immigration officer for a hassle-free check-in.

The use of masks indoors or in closed spaces such as public transport, shops, schools, offices, etc. where it is not possible to keep a distance of 2 meters is mandatory, whether the person is vaccinated or not.

That said, people aged 50 and over and people with comorbidities, regardless of age, are advised to wear a face mask at all times, whether vaccinated or not.

Visitors are required to wear masks when accompanied by primates, but visitors are allowed to remove masks when trekking to and from the gorilla site.

Entry Requirements for guests traveling to Rwanda

  • All travelers arriving in Rwanda must have either present a negative Rapid test or a PCR test certificate performed within 72 hours prior to departure.
  • A Covid-19 – PCR Test will be taken upon arrival at own cost, guests will be allowed to proceed with their journey as they wait for PCR test results that are delivered within 24 hours or less.
  • A PCR test taken within 72 hours is required for all visitors wishing to see primates in Rwanda.
  • All travelers arriving in Rwanda must complete the passenger locator form and upload their negative test certificate taken within 72 hours before heading to the airport. Access passenger locator form is on this link;  https://travel.rbc.gov.rw/travel/
  • All travelers departing from Rwanda a required to present a negative Rapid or PCR test (depending on requirement at destination) performed 72 hours before departure.
  • Guests are encouraged to have their masks on while in public places
  • Incoming travelers are encouraged to be fully vaccinated before their travel.
