Best time to visit Uganda and see gorillas.

Gorilla Safari Holidays in Uganda are possible at any time of the year.However, most travelers prefer to travel during the European summer from June to September when Uganda is drier. Although the temperature in Uganda at the moment is not as hot and dry as in Europe or America. .

Temperatures range from 24 degrees Celsius to 30 degrees Celsius. In the rainy months of March to May and October to November, it does rain heavily, but it doesn’t rain all day. It usually rains for a few hours and then stops, then the sun shines.

Note: The gorilla trekking tour is also possible in the rainy season. The rain doesn’t interfere with activities, so we always recommend wearing a raincoat. Also, given global climate change, don’t be surprised if it rains even in what are considered the driest months in Uganda.

Some basic things to take with you on a safari, however, are a waterproof backpack for water and personal items, a rain jacket, hiking shoes, t-shirts and shorts, women’s long pants for hiking, a hat and goggles, sunglasses, cardigans and other personal items.

However, if you are going on a gorilla safari, we recommend booking your visit several months in advance to obtain gorilla permits. June to September are the main months. How to get Uganda tourist visa.

Visa is required before entering Uganda for travel, vacation, travel or business purposes. Visas for Uganda can be applied for at the consulates in your area or at any Ugandan embassy in your country. If you do not have a consulate near you, you can apply for a Uganda visa online before arriving in Uganda. In order to obtain the visa, you need a yellow fever certificate, which must be scanned and uploaded in the online application. Once this is done, you will receive an approval letter that you must present at the port of entry before your visa is issued.

A Uganda tourist visa costs USD 50 per person and allows you to stay for up to 3 months – single entry. Uganda has recently started receiving visa payments online, so you don’t have to queue on arrival to pay for a previously applied visa online.

Are there any health requirements for traveling to Uganda?

Is tap water safe to drink in Uganda?

Unfortunately the tap water in Uganda is not drinkable, so in this case we advise you to drink bottled water or boil your tap water to 100 degrees, then it is safe to drink.

Can I use credit cards in Uganda?

credit cards are not widely used in Uganda, but can be used in some banks and some hotels in the capital, Kampala. If you are traveling to the countryside for a safari or excursion. We recommend that you withdraw cash from banks in Kampala prior to your departure.
